Consorte Arinto 2022
The Consorte Arinto 2022 is a white wine produced by Adega da Vara, located in Castelo de Paiva, within the Minho region of Portugal. This monovarietal wine is crafted exclusively from the Arinto grape, locally known as Chapeludo.
Vinification and Aging
Harvest: Manual harvesting from vines planted approximately 25 years ago in the Fundões area of Castelo de Paiva. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of around 200 meters, with predominant south/southwest sun exposure.
Vinification: After destemming, the grapes are pressed using a 19th-century wooden press, promoting a gentle skin maceration. The must undergoes static cold clarification and is fermented exclusively with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, without temperature control.
Aging: The wine is aged on fine lees in the same barrels, with bâtonnage, enhancing its complexity and structure.
Tasting Notes
Color: Citrine yellow with slight straw reflections.
Aroma: Pure, with good intensity and complexity. Aromas of ripe citrus fruits (lemon and grapefruit), white flowers, and aromatic herbs (lemon thyme) stand out.
Palate: Elegant and dry, with excellent aromatic expression. It presents fine and balanced acidity, providing a long and mouthwatering finish. This is a wine with tension and a gastronomic profile.
Food Pairing
This Arinto is versatile and pairs well with seafood dishes, grilled fish, salads, and soft cheeses. Its acidity and structure also make it an excellent option for richer and more seasoned dishes.
Serving Recommendations
- Temperature: Serve between 8°C and 10°C to fully appreciate its freshness and complexity.
